Granite

Quarried natural stone, so every slab is one of a kind, with pattern that runs right through and shows at the edges. It copes well with heat, though we still suggest a trivet. Granite is porous, so it is sealed before fitting and resealed from time to time. Wipe spills promptly and clean with warm soapy water.

Quartz

An engineered surface, mostly ground quartz bound with a little resin. It gives a consistent look, from fine and even to soft veining, and is non-porous, so it needs no sealing and resists coffee, wine and lemon juice. The resin means hot pans straight from the oven should go on a trivet.

Sintered stone

Made from natural minerals pressed and fired at very high heat. It is dense and non-porous, handles heat and stains well and needs no sealing. A good choice for crisp, marble-look veining in busy kitchens.

Finish and edges

Polished: a deep shine that brings out colour and veining.

Honed: a soft, satin feel with a quieter look.

Edge profiles: from a crisp square or eased edge to a softer pencil round or a bevel, chosen to suit the cabinetry.

Sinks and hobs

Undermount sinks sit beneath the stone for a clean line you can wipe straight into, with drainer grooves cut into the worktop if you like. Cladded sinks wrap the stone around the bowl for a seamless, built-in look. Hob and tap cut-outs are cut and finished in the workshop.

Templating and fitting

Stone is templated once your units are in and level, so every measurement matches the finished room. Where possible you can view and choose your own slab before it is cut. The worktops are then made to the template and fitted by our team.

Matching splashbacks

Upstands and full-height splashbacks cut from the same slab carry the veining up the wall without a break. If you prefer tiles, marble-effect porcelain gives the same calm look with very little upkeep.
